What is costume jewelry?
Costume jewelry (also known as fashion jewelry, dress jewelry, party jewelry etc.) is a fun and inexpensive alternative to gemstone and precious metal jewelry.
Here at PreciousRox, we offer customers the opportunity to own beautifully designed jewelry at a fraction of the cost.
Costume jewelry is often made from a combination of base metals (usually tin / nickel / copper etc.), and is frequently finished in a highly reflective, hard-wearing metal such as rhodium for a longer lasting, shiny appearance.
All stones in our jewelry are cubic zirconium. Cubic zirconium (CZ) is chemically equivalent to diamond - it has similar brilliance and sparkle, but is the manufactured alternative to naturally occurring diamonds.
Note: Often, it is impracticable to determine the exact base metals used in such jewelry, so we advise against purchase if you have any known allergies to base metals of any kind.

How do I care for my jewelry?
We recommend a simple wipe with a lint-free cloth (micro fiber lens cleaning cloths are ideal) for general cleaning, or for more stubborn spots, a weak liquid soap solution and a soft brush can be used.

How long will my jewelry last?
Costume jewelry is meant for occasional wear only, and you may find (especially with rings) that natural oils and sweat from your body will quickly tarnish your items if you wear them continually. Light tarnishing can usually be removed with a small application of metal polish and gentle buffing.
Unfortunately, the coating will eventually wear off - this will obviously occur more quickly with rings that are subject to more "wear and tear" than with pendants etc.
When this happens, we would recommend discarding the item to prevent the possibility of your skin being stained from the base metals.
It is therefore impossible to say how long your jewelry will stay looking new, since there are so many different factors involved. We would estimate at least 6 months to a year for casual use, however.
Because our jewelry is not designed to last indefinitely, we cannot provide any sort of lifespan guarantee.
